That's my girl!! Let the Mamma Brag begin...

My oldest daughter Amanda is a broadcast journalist and she works at her local radio station. Along with her title as news director, Amanda is also responsible for co-hosting the morning show and also hosting a daily half hour news interview show covering the biggest stories of the day along with interviewing the biggest news makers. In her free time she volunteers for organizations such as big brothers/big sisters, Relay for Life, Run for the Cure, and is spokesperson for Girls Inc(helping troubled teens).
In March, Amanda was nominated by the people of her community for The Gold Star Award. The Gold Star is an award for being the best media personality. And as you can see from the photo - she won!!!
Last night she informed me that she has been selected as Harvard Broadcasting’s nominee for the “Steve Young Broadcaster of the Year Award” at this year’s Canadian Music Week. This award is for outstanding “up and coming” Canadian broadcasters under the age of 30. Amanda was selected from a group of talented individuals within Harvard and if selected she’ll receive an all expense paid trip to Country Music Week in Toronto to accept the award.
I can't even tell you how proud I am - 25 years old and she has already accomplished so much! She deserves every moment of this success, and I couldn't be happier for her.
That's my girl!!

Woot!
Woot!
I'm doing the fist pump in the air for you, as we are not men and I didn't think the chest bump would be appropriate for us women folk.

Great job Mama and daughter!

Hugs,
Lisa
